Happy Monday from the coast y’all! I hope everyone’s had a fabulous weekend. I’m so lucky that I was asked to be part of my aunt’s wedding this past weekend! My quick weekend getaway to the Gulf Coast – and a little bit of New Orleans – was perfect! I loved getting to check out a little bit of the area and spend a bunch of time with my family.
One of our first orders of business was picking up the cake for the wedding! Several of the guests were vegetarian and vegan, so the bride was sweet enough to grab vegan cupcakes for everyone to enjoy from Shake Sugary in New Orleans. My Aunt and I made a trip of it and found exactly what we were looking for at Stein’s Market & Deli. This little bustling deli has an awesome selection of beer, meats, cheeses, and even some breakfast options. I had their Friday special, the Cuban while my aunt opted for a salad and a local kombucha. Obviously, we both grabbed some much needed everything bagels to-go to get us through the day. I’m hoping to make it over to Turkey and the Wolf on the next trip! Has anyone been there yet? Is it worth all the hype or just a phase of the moment?
After flying from Kentucky, working on the festivities, and staying up too late talking {and raiding Grandpa’s mystery liquor cabinet} my skin needed a little TLC! While traveling I always use Shiseido’s gentle cleanser with my mini foreo – the travel friendly dream team. You need to use so little of this cleanser and the foreo stays charged for ages.
The Wedding Day
On the morning of the wedding I used Tatcha’s hydrating eye mask while having tea and working on my hair. It was my first time trying these and I’m glad I splurged a little for this special day! They are very cooling, hydrating, and overall make you look a bit more awake. There was a good amount of product left in the pouch which I used like a serum before going in with the First Aid Beauty ultra repair cream for added moisture. I was happy to discover that even my Grandmother is just as obsessed with this moisturizer as I am!
My go-to lip scrub right now is Jeffree Star’s orange soda! I finally ordered this after finishing off my mint julep pot from Lush, and I think I prefer this formula! It has a bit more oil than the Lush formula (yay for moisturizing!) but doesn’t leave a residue like some other lip scrubs. I’m considering ordering another before the chrome collection is gone. This flavor is seriously such a delicious nostalgia fest (anybody else beg for Fanta as a kid??). I’m still loving the Tatcha gold camellia lip balm for everyday and especially before lipstick.
Also in the picture is the Briogeo leave-in conditioning spray, an item I got in my latest Sephora Play! Box. It does a decent job smoothing my hair, but so does the Tresemme heat protector for half the cost. I still think this new brand is keeping haircare so intruiging right now. I’m hoping to test out a few of their weirder options like the charcoal exfoliating shampoo!
